SCORPIONS Singer Says It Is Once Again 'Cool' To Attend '80s Rock Concerts

August 26, 2004

SCORPIONS frontman Klaus Meine recently told Launch Radio Networks that fans who stayed away from the group's shows in the '90s have started going out again. "When we toured in the States — and pretty much everywhere around the world — for all the bands that were big in the '80s, it was, like, uncool to go and see an '80s band, you know?" he explained. "All of a sudden, in the last couple of years — like, especially in 2003 — the rock fans were back, and they enjoyed themselves, and everybody had a great time."

SCORPIONS recently announced a set of tour dates to support their new album, "Unbreakable". The current schedule has them primarily in the West and Midwest, kicking things off October 21 in Everett, Washington, and running through December 5 in Reno, Nevada. A spokesperson told Launch that more shows could very well be added, including some on the East Coast. Support acts for the tour include TESLA and EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER keyboardist Keith Emerson with his current band.
